The Hotel

Zichy Park Hotel is situated at the border line between Tolna and Fejér counties about 130 km (ca. 80 miles) off Budapest, near the towns Szekszárd and Paks, near the village of Bikács-Kistápé. Buildings, that recall the countryside atmosphere and patina of the old manorial buildings, still meeting the up-to-date requirements from every respect, are nestled into the wonderful natural environment. In the up-to-date main hotel building for 110 persons there are 38 air-conditioned rooms of different type, while next to the main building, in the tradition-keeping Farmer’s House, in the Vine-dresser’s House accommodating old style parties and in the elegant Apartment House, you can find 8 more rooms.

 

Natural reserve areas surrounding these premises, the intact nature, the crystal clear air, the well cared-for park offers rest and filling-up to our guests. The pride of hotel is the 1.5 acre boating and fishing lake located in the park. Its relocated fish stock awaits the angling enthusiasts and its lakeside and the bridge over it awaits those, who love to walk and have delight in the beauty of landscape.

 

 

A special colour in the area of the park is the skanzen-like Farmer’s Backyard that was built in the kraut architectural style recalling the old times and mustering a number of original utensils - this is a good demonstration of the circumstances of old Hungarian animal husbandry and farming. Here you can find the Poultry-yard, the Swimming lake for ducks, our bio-horticulture and the tradition-keeping outhouses like the summer kitchen fitted with traditional utensils and the still working “smoker room”, that accommodate the traditional home-style “disznótoros” (pig-killing dinner). The Farmer’s Backyard can be visited at any time.
 

The Vine-dresser’s House, 150 m from the hotel, provides imperishable experiences mainly for the fancier of good wines. Its speciality is the Délibáb Brasserie, which is a traditional Hungarian pub (a so-called “kocsma”) and which is connected to the Wine Vault and Wine Cellar housing wine tasting parties.
